Hi, I’m Caitlin!
I am an American from Texas (living in Vienna, Austria) who is researching her family history.
Since I was a little kid I was drawn to WW2 history. My dad and I would watch all the movies there could be about WW1 and WW2 such as Band of Brothers, We Were Soldiers, and more.
My grandmother, who was born in Berlin and came over to the USA after WW2, used to sit us down after lunch and tell us all of her war stories.
Ultimately, this led to me loving everything about history and getting a Bachelors degree in History from Texas Tech University.
After the passing of this grandmother from Germany in 2012, I found a whole bunch of pictures of her relatives that I have never met or knew about. I decided to go about figuring out who they were and finding out more about our family.
After over 10 years, I have decided to dedicate my time to focusing on solving all the mysteries and hope to meet new family members along the way.
Want to help me in my research?
All donations will go directly to research and archive trips.
To help show the importance of ancestry in our present-day lives and how it shapes us genetically, psychologically, and emotionally.
I hope showing my journey will help inspire others to research their family history to see how important their life is and how many people had to live just for theirs to exist.
Each life is special and nowadays it is so important to value the lives of others when it seems the world is so divided and on the brink of another World War.
